Every child comes to martial arts from a different place. Some cannot wait to get started. Others need a familiar room and a few familiar faces before they will try something new. That is why London TKD runs two connected programmes, so that every child can begin in the way that suits them best.
Wherever they start, your child follows the same Blackbelt Journey, taught by the same professional Instructors, working towards the same goal.
School Clubs
A fun, familiar start to martial arts, directly from school.
We have partnered with over 140 primary schools across London and Surrey to bring the Blackbelt Journey straight into school communities. Before and after-school clubs run on school premises, so your child trains alongside their schoolmates in a room they already know, while you get a simple, time-saving solution that fits around the school day.
Students go straight into our Foundation Curriculum, learning core techniques, building confidence through structured challenges, and working towards their first belts. Everything they need to get started is provided free of charge in their joining pack.
Academy
Where Blackbelts are made.
Our Academy is home to our specialist classes, supporting students at every stage of the Blackbelt Journey. Beginners are welcome, and School Club students graduate into Advanced classes at the Academy once they achieve Red Belt.
Training here introduces more complex elements of TKD, higher expectations and a deeper focus on physical development and self-defence, right through to specialist Blackbelt classes and our Junior Leadership Pathway. Academy students wear the official London TKD Dobok and bring sparring pads to class, where light contact only is permitted and strikes to the head are never allowed.
